The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, recognising the importance of family harmony and social capital, in 2007 commissioned the School of Public Health of HKU to develop and implement “The FAMILY Project”. The Project consists of a community action component, that is in turn informed by an original household-based longitudinal “social barometer” databank. This social barometer databank represents the first comprehensive assessment of Hong Kong people’s health, happiness and harmony (the “3Hs”) at both the individual and family levels.
