Adopting a positive psychology framework with “eating” and “kitchen” as platforms, the Happy Family Kitchen (HFK) projects co-organized by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service and the FAMILY Project had been successful in improving family communication and FAMILY 3Hs. Based on the strong foundation of the HFK projects in the previous years, the Happy Family Kitchen Movement (HFKM) is scaled up. The intervention theme is expanded from psychosocial health to a broader perspective of FAMILY Holistic Health (including healthy diet and exercise), and from district level to territory-wide participation. Key components of the HFKM include public education, FAMILY Holistic Health events, train-the-trainers programmes, community-based programmes, and knowledge consolidation. It is hoped that the HFKM can involve more community partners and cover a larger scope of beneficiaries.
